Senior Manager – R&D (Sewing Technology)
About the Job
We are a well-known recruitment company in Colombo, hiring a Senior Manager – R&D (Sewing Technology) for a leading company in Seeduwa.
Main Duties
- New Product Development: Create new sewing-related products to support long-term business goals.
- Team Leadership: Guide and support the R&D team to improve their skills and performance.
- Strategy Alignment: Make sure the R&D work matches the company’s overall plans.
- Teamwork: Work closely with global R&D teams on joint projects and ideas.
- Technology Research: Explore new sewing and garment technologies to stay ahead in the market.
- Process Improvement: Help improve production methods to lower costs and boost quality and speed.
- Safety and Compliance: Follow safety rules and promote safe working practices.
Requirements
- A degree in a relevant field (like engineering, design, or materials).
- At least 8 years of R&D and production experience in garments, PPE, or similar.
- Strong knowledge of sewing technology.
- Experience with materials, design, or garment manufacturing is a plus.
- Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma and workplace safety practices.
- Good understanding of business and how R&D supports growth.
