The Role and Responsibilities

Primary Responsibility: Medical Device Sales and Commercialization Strategy

As a key member of our sales and business development team, you will drive the commercialization strategy for assigned medical devices and ensure strong market penetration. Your role will include:

Sales Strategy & Implementation

  • Develop and implement effective commercialization strategies tailored to the Sri Lankan healthcare landscape.
  • Identify high-potential customer segments, distribution channels, and partnerships.
  • Conduct engaging product demonstrations and training sessions for doctors, hospital staff, and distributors, ensuring they understand the benefits and proper usage of medical devices.

Market Expansion

  • Build and strengthen relationships with hospitals, clinics, therapy centers, and healthcare distributors.
  • Conduct market research, competitor analysis, and engage with key opinion leaders (KOLs) to uncover new growth opportunities.
  • Represent the company at medical conferences, exhibitions, and industry events to boost visibility and credibility.

Sales Targets & Performance

  • Consistently achieve quarterly and annual sales targets for assigned medical devices.
  • Monitor sales performance through key metrics, analyze client feedback, and identify competitor activities to adjust strategies accordingly.
  • Provide accurate and timely reporting to senior management.

Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with regulatory, marketing, and operations teams to ensure compliance with medical device regulations and alignment with customer expectations.
  • Support post-sale processes, ensuring customers receive outstanding service and follow-up, leading to long-term loyalty.

Secondary Responsibility: Service Sales (Legal & Regulatory Services)

Beyond product sales, this role also involves promoting complementary services, such as legal representation and Marketing Authorization Holder (MAH) services. You will:

  • Present tailored proposals to clients for regulatory and legal service needs.
  • Deliver service solutions that align with client expectations and compliance requirements.
  • Offer consistent support for client queries, ensuring seamless service delivery and retention.

Key Qualifications and Skills

  • Educational Background: A valid Pharmacist License or a Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy or a related field is required. This ensures you have the technical knowledge to communicate effectively with healthcare professionals.
  • Industry Experience: Minimum of 5 years in medical device sales, commercialization, or business development, with preference for candidates who also have experience in the pharmaceutical or regulatory industry.
  • Healthcare Knowledge: Strong understanding of the regulatory landscape governing medical devices in Sri Lanka, including safety, compliance, and licensing.
  • Sales Acumen: Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets while developing sustainable client relationships.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent presentation, negotiation, and interpersonal skills that allow you to engage effectively with both medical professionals and corporate stakeholders.
  • Project Management: Ability to manage multiple sales pipelines and service projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
  • Adaptability: A proactive mindset, capable of navigating complex challenges and adapting to the evolving healthcare market.
