Key Duties
As the General Manager, you will act as the primary strategic leader of the Sheraton Colombo Hotel. Responsibilities include:
- Overseeing all hotel operations including guest satisfaction, financial performance, sales, and human resources.
- Leading the executive team to deliver on brand and owner expectations while driving profitability and market share.
- Developing and executing business strategies to maintain competitiveness and enhance guest experiences.
- Partnering with the sales and marketing teams to increase revenue and promote the property’s market positioning.
- Ensuring effective talent development, succession planning, and employee engagement across all departments.
- Building strong relationships with property ownership, local community leaders, and key business partners.
- Monitoring performance data to ensure financial goals, labor standards, and service quality benchmarks are met.
Requirements
- A degree in Business Administration, Hotel & Restaurant Management, or a related field.
- Experience:
- With a 2-year degree: 8+ years in hotel management, operations, finance, or sales.
- With a 4-year degree: 6+ years in similar fields.
- Proven experience as a General Manager in a full-service or limited-service hotel preferred.
- Strong leadership, communication, and business acumen.
- Willingness to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Demonstrated track record of driving results and career growth within the hospitality industry.
