The Opportunity
Based in our Jeddah office within the Established Pharmaceutical Division (EPD), the Saudi Arabia Supply Chain Manager will ensure that Abbott’s trusted medicines reach more people across fast-growing markets. This role spans multiple therapeutic areas, including gastroenterology, women’s health, cardiometabolic, pain/CNS, and respiratory.

You will collaborate closely with commercial, regulatory, quality, finance, and operations teams, as well as third-party logistics providers and global colleagues within the EPD division.


Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the affiliate leadership team to drive sales, growth, and margin improvement.

  • Develop and implement country-specific supply chain strategies covering financial, operational, quality, and regulatory aspects.

  • Build and maintain the supply chain strategic roadmap, ensuring alignment with EPD expectations.

  • Implement and oversee supply chain planning policies, procedures, and practices in the market.

  • Drive end-to-end supply chain effectiveness with full accountability.

  • Support Biosimilars localization projects from evaluation to implementation.

  • Manage TPM selection, capacity reservations, and supply security in coordination with TPM leaders.

  • Maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure supply continuity.

  • Monitor API and bulk stock levels to prevent stockouts and maintain safety stocks.

  • Track shipments to guarantee timely delivery from APO to TPMs.

  • Plan and optimize monthly production orders and replenishment in SAP, aligned with demand forecasts and inventory strategies.

  • Adjust supply plans in response to demand changes, including contingency planning.

  • Lead monthly supply reviews and communicate updates across departments.

  • Coordinate with planning centers and supply planners as the primary link to the commercial affiliate.

  • Manage weekly backorder reporting and resolution with planners.

  • Collaborate with the RA department on importation plans, permits, and product artwork updates.

  • Ensure timely deliveries for tender business and mitigate penalty risks.

  • Maintain adequate safety stocks and align with finance, trade, and operations to optimize cash flow.

  • Forecast, monitor, and mitigate distressed inventory risks.

  • Oversee inventory reconciliation and maintain accurate system parameters.

  • Partner with commercial teams to maintain a cost-effective and agile supply chain (freight modes, warehousing, container utilization, source changes, MOQ adjustments).

  • Support monthly LBE achievement, identify risks, and recommend mitigation strategies.

  • Provide shipment plans and align with APO for container booking and weekly progress calls.

  • Monitor supply chain KPIs for TPM performance, including on-time, in-full deliveries, and supply adherence.

  • Ensure compliance with audit requirements, divisional policies, and procedures.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Statistics, Pharmacy, or Business Administration.

  • 10–12 years of supply chain experience, including at least 3 years in a managerial role.

  • Strong background in supply planning and logistics.

  • Excellent written and spoken English.

  • Outstanding communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Ability to perform effectively in complex, deadline-driven environments without compromising accuracy.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Experience presenting to senior management.

  • Advanced Excel and database skills; SAP experience is a plus.
