Job Title: Stock Controller

About the Role
The Stock Controller plays a key role in overseeing the purchasing, replenishment, and control of retail inventory. This position ensures stock availability aligns with business demand while maintaining inventory levels within approved budgets and operational guidelines.
Key Responsibilities

Maintain and regularly update inventory and stock management systems in line with agreed business parameters

Receive and inspect delivered goods, ensuring quantities, condition, and specifications match purchase orders, and complete all related documentation

Manage all stock movements in and out of the store, maintaining accurate logs to ensure consistency with transfer documents

Monitor inventory levels against agreed thresholds, scanning all incoming and outgoing stock and flagging discrepancies for prompt resolution

Organize and manage storeroom space allocation, ensuring storage areas comply with defined standards and regulations

Ensure health and safety procedures are consistently implemented and followed within stock areas

Coordinate with store operations teams to identify damaged or non-saleable stock, ensuring items are scanned, packed, approved, and dispatched to the warehouse correctly

Conduct weekly cycle counts based on system reports and support the annual full physical inventory count
People Management

Set clear goals and key performance indicators for team members, supporting effective execution of GMG’s performance management framework

Coach and develop team members through ongoing guidance, feedback, and support to help them achieve performance objectives
