About the Role

As a Steel Structural Engineer in Dubai, you will play a key role in designing and supporting steel structures for industrial automation projects, contributing to seamless logistics operations for leading airports and airlines worldwide.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and ensure steel design compliance with contractual requirements during sales and engineering phases.

  • Assist the Bidding team in steelwork estimation, structural design, connection design, and generation of Tekla models.

  • Guide the Site Installation team to ensure steelworks and accessories are installed according to design codes, project specifications, and site conditions for both greenfield and brownfield projects.

  • Identify and implement design, fabrication, and installation optimizations to improve efficiency and reduce costs.

  • Plan and coordinate steelwork activities with internal teams and external stakeholders.

  • Prepare detailed design documentation and submissions for review.

  • Propose smart solutions for modifications, minimizing time and cost impact.

  • Maintain adherence to quality guidelines and processes throughout project execution.

  • Evaluate claims and variation orders when necessary.

  • Ensure compliance with occupational health, safety, security, environmental, and quality standards.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in steelwork design, detailing, and project handling for steel structure projects.

  • Proficient in 2D/3D design and detailing tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, Staad Pro, Ram Connection, and Tekla Structures.

  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel and Word.

  • Familiarity with American/British steel design codes and standards.

  • Knowledge of airport material flow systems (e.g., baggage or cargo handling systems) is an advantage.

  • Excellent English communication skills (verbal and written).

  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities.

  • Methodical, structured approach to work and attention to detail.

  • Team-oriented, yet capable of independent task management in a fast-paced environment.

  • Flexible and adaptable, with experience in training others and sharing knowledge.

  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.
