About the Role:
Ma’aden, a leading multi-commodity mining company in the Middle East, is seeking a Senior Engineer, Safety to join the Phosphate BU – EHSS JAL team. This role plays a pivotal part in promoting a safe working environment across operations and projects by developing, implementing, and maintaining the company’s safety management systems. The position offers an opportunity to contribute to Ma’aden’s growth and the advancement of the mining sector in Saudi Arabia.
Key Responsibilities:

Health & Safety Procedures: Develop, implement, and coordinate plant procedures to maintain a consistent and safe working environment.

Accident Response: Manage and coordinate responses to serious incidents in the plant or nearby areas, ensuring situations are controlled and damage is minimized.

Safety Audits & Prevention Programs: Conduct comprehensive safety audits across facilities to identify unsafe conditions or behaviors, and develop action plans to mitigate risks.

Incident Investigation: Prepare detailed investigation reports using root cause analysis to determine causes of incidents and recommend preventative measures.

Safety Reporting: Maintain records of safety incidents and injuries, analyze trends, and develop strategies to reduce risks.

Safety Training: Design and deliver practical safety training programs, educating employees on risk identification and mitigation.

Safety Planning & Coverage: Prepare safety budgets, programs, and plans to support objectives, ensuring year-round coverage and compliance.
Qualifications & Experience:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Safety Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or equivalent.

Experience: Minimum 4 years in industrial health and safety, preferably within Petrochemical, Oil & Gas, or Mining industries.

Skills & Competencies:
-
Deep knowledge of occupational health and safety standards (ISO 45001, OSHA, RC).

Strong expertise in risk assessment and incident investigation methodologies.

Excellent communication and leadership abilities.

Proficiency in safety management software and reporting tools.
-
High attention to detail, proactive approach, sound judgment, and strong written and verbal communication skills.
