Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Telecom Engineer to coordinate airline operational initiatives, including new station start-ups, ACMI operations, aircraft introductions, and regulatory compliance. This role acts as the central hub for communication across internal teams, regulators, airport authorities, and external partners, ensuring all operational and compliance requirements are met efficiently. The position demands strong stakeholder management, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to oversee multiple projects to guarantee smooth operational readiness and continuity.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure full regulatory compliance for foreign operations by managing Etihad Airways’ passenger and cargo permits, maintaining current documentation, and resolving regulatory findings promptly.

• Plan and deliver ad-hoc operational projects, such as airshows, fly-pasts, lease-out operations, and commercial charters, ensuring safe and compliant execution within scope and timelines.

• Support operational efficiency and cost optimization by participating in cross-functional initiatives, analyzing operational impacts, and implementing changes that improve performance without compromising safety.

• Prepare for seasonal operational readiness through schedule block analysis, historical performance review, and risk mitigation strategies to safeguard on-time performance.

• Develop and maintain Operations Planning processes, including documented standards, workflows, and governance controls, with annual compliance reviews to ensure audit readiness.

• Lead and mentor the Operations Planning team by setting clear performance objectives, conducting regular reviews, and implementing development plans to enhance capability and engagement.

• Oversee aircraft and port introduction/exit projects, managing operational planning activities, milestones, and dependencies, while identifying and mitigating all operational, safety, regulatory, and financial risks.

Required Skills & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree (preferably in Aviation Management; project management qualifications are a plus).

• Minimum of 7 years’ management experience in airline operations or planning within a major operational department.

• Strong project management, stakeholder engagement, and analytical skills.

• Ability to manage multiple workstreams and prioritize competing demands effectively.

• Excellent communication and leadership capabilities.
