Job description

Develop and implement sourcing strategies for fruits and vegetables, ensuring optimal quality, cost, and supply chain efficiency.Negotiate contracts and pricing with suppliers, leveraging market knowledge and volume to secure favorable terms.Manage supplier relationships, conducting regular performance reviews and fostering strong partnerships for long-term collaboration.Monitor market trends, seasonality, and potential supply disruptions to proactively mitigate risks and ensure product availability.Oversee the quality control process for incoming produce, ensuring adherence to established standards and specifications.Collaborate with internal stakeholders (e.g., sales, marketing, operations) to forecast demand and align procurement activities.Analyze spend data, identify cost-saving opportunities, and implement strategies to reduce overall procurement expenses.Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, food safety standards, and ethical sourcing practices.Manage inventory levels and optimize storage conditions to minimize waste and maintain product freshness.Stay informed about industry best practices, new technologies, and innovative sourcing approaches in the produce sector. Possesses a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.Minimum of 5 years of proven UAE local experience in procurement, specifically within the fruits and vegetables industry.Demonstrates a strong understanding of fresh produce market dynamics, seasonality, and quality standards.Exhibits excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills to build and maintain supplier relationships.Proficient in using procurement software, data analysis tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.Has a keen eye for detail and the ability to analyze data to make informed sourcing decisions.Demonstrates a strong understanding of food safety regulations and quality control procedures.Displays a proactive and results-oriented approach, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.Prior experience in a global or multinational food company is highly preferred.Fluent in English; proficiency in additional languages is a plus.
