Job Summary:
The Army Aviation GSE Mechanic is responsible for diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing Ground Support Equipment (GSE) to ensure operational readiness. This role requires hands-on experience with aviation-related machinery, attention to detail, and adherence to strict safety and technical standards. The ideal candidate is skilled in both mechanical and electronic troubleshooting, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities:

Diagnose, repair, and maintain GSE and associated components (e.g., APU’s) using technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic tools.

Perform inspections and approve maintenance actions, ensuring compliance with technical and safety standards.

Utilize automated maintenance systems to track trends, document actions, and manage equipment records.

Conduct both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, including servicing equipment with fuel, oil, water, hydraulic fluid, refrigerant, and compressed air.

Troubleshoot mechanical and electronic systems using multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other diagnostic tools.

Disassemble, repair, clean, treat for corrosion, and reassemble GSE components and accessories.

Maintain grounding and external fuel systems; prepare GSE for storage or deployment.

Operate, inspect, clean, and service towing vehicles and other support equipment.

Maintain and update paper and electronic records of equipment and maintenance actions.

Provide dispatch services for GSE to support aircraft maintenance and flight operations.

Practice safety, Foreign Object Damage prevention, tool control, and good housekeeping at all times.

Perform additional qualified duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
-
High School Diploma or equivalent.
-
Three (3) years of aviation GSE experience within the last six (6) years, including repair, maintenance, modification, and overhaul of relevant equipment and components.

U.S. Military technical school or specialized training is preferred.
-
Valid U.S. Passport with at least six (6) blank pages and a minimum of two (2) years of validity at the time of hire.

Ability to obtain and maintain facility Public Trust NAC-I clearance (U.S. citizenship required).
-
Must meet CENTCOM medical requirements for deployment.

Eligibility to obtain a Kuwait Visa.
Knowledge & Skills:
-
Proficient in inspection, servicing, troubleshooting, and repair of GSE.

Familiar with military publications, technical manuals, blueprints, drawings, and schematics.

Knowledge of military or company forms related to work assignments.
-
Ability to prioritize tasks and lead teams through complex GSE or aircraft-related tasks.

Skilled in documenting maintenance in equipment logs and records.
Physical Requirements:

Capable of standing or walking for extended periods, and climbing stairs, ladders, or ramps.

Ability to crouch, crawl, handle objects, and perform fine motor tasks.

Able to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.

Comfortable working with dirty parts, lubricants, and in noisy, drafty, or outdoor environments.

Must wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and pass respirator fit tests.

Operate machinery, power tools, forklifts, and other GSE safely in various conditions.
