Role Overview

The Financial Controller will manage day-to-day transactional accounting for the Market, supporting high-volume, multi-unit food and beverage operations. This hands-on role partners closely with the General Manager and senior leadership to ensure accurate reporting, strong financial controls, and insightful analysis. You will play a key role in budgeting, forecasting, and delivering management information that supports informed decision-making, efficiency, and long-term growth.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Management & Reporting

• Deliver timely and accurate management accounts, board reports, and monthly management packs.

• Provide regular cost control updates and respond to ad-hoc financial queries.

• Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including full balance sheet reconciliations.

• Ensure compliance with IFRS/GAAP and all relevant regulatory standards.

• Build, maintain, and update financial models, forecasts, and operational reports.

• Manage rolling cash flow forecasts and working capital requirements.

• Lead Accounts Payable processes, ensuring timely invoice processing, payments, and continuous improvement.

• Handle payroll, pension submissions, reconciliations, and sales commission calculations.

Business Partnering

• Work closely with the General Manager to develop structured budgets and financial projections.

• Partner with operations and commercial teams to improve margins and financial performance.

• Provide actionable financial insights to support pricing, promotions, and investment decisions.

• Track and drive performance through relevant KPIs across the business.

Cost Control & Operational Finance

• Oversee inventory management and cost accounting to ensure accurate product costing.

• Implement and maintain financial controls across procurement, logistics, and sales.

• Ensure cost of sales and operating expenses are accurately accrued and reported monthly.

• Establish best-practice processes, governance, and controls within Finance & Administration.

Leadership & Team Development

• Promote a culture of accountability, precision, and continuous improvement within the finance function.

Systems & Processes

• Optimize ERP systems, reporting tools, and financial workflows to improve efficiency.

• Support digital transformation initiatives and automation of financial reporting where possible.

Qualifications & Experience

• Qualified Accountant (CPA, ACA, ACCA, or equivalent).

• Experience within food & beverage, FMCG, retail, or manufacturing environments.

• Strong expertise in cost accounting, inventory control, and financial reporting.

• Experience with ERP systems; knowledge of SAP Business One, Vision, Concur, or Ad Point is an advantage.

• Multi-site or international experience is a plus.
