Job Description: OCS & Systems Engineer

The Role

As a key member of the divisional projects team, you will design, execute, and optimize critical infrastructure. Your focus will range from high-level architectural blueprints to the hands-on “cloudification” of billing systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Design: Research and design detailed blueprints and roadmaps, ensuring all objectives align with divisional goals.

  • System Modernization: Drive operational optimization within Charging/Billing systems, focusing on application modernization and cloud migration.

  • Feasibility & Integration: Conduct end-to-end feasibility checks for OCS-related services and support cross-divisional integrations.

  • Product Development: Create new tariffs and promotional offers, advising business units on technical viability.

  • Quality Assurance: Lead testing plans and conduct troubleshooting during Pre-Launch Assurance (PLA) and post-launch phases.

  • Operational Excellence: Manage system configurations, monitor service behavior, and provide 24/7 third-level support for OCS and related systems.

  • Traffic Management: Lead network traffic handling during peak periods and emergency scenarios.

  • Automation & Scripting: Develop web-service and back-end scripts (Shell, Python, etc.) to automate monitoring and streamline troubleshooting.

  • Knowledge Sharing: Mentor the team on operational processes and advocate for continuous workflow improvements.

The Person

We are looking for a technically proficient engineer with a proactive mindset and a background in telecommunications infrastructure.

  • Education: B.Sc. in Engineering (Telecommunication or Computer Science).

  • Certifications: RedHat System Administration and Cloud certification (AWS/GCP).

  • Experience: 1–2 years in project planning, execution, and management within a telecom environment.

  • OS Proficiency: Expert knowledge of Linux, Windows, and MacOS.

  • Technical Skills: * Scripting: Java, PHP, Python, and Shell scripting.

    • Databases: Oracle, MySQL, and Clickhouse.

    • Protocols: SOAP, REST, Diameter, Camel, and SS7 Signaling.

  • Specialized Knowledge: Proven experience in troubleshooting, system configuration, and service integration for OCS nodes.
