About the Role
Egis is looking for an experienced Deputy Resident Engineer to join its Building Projects team in Kuwait. This role plays a key part in supporting the Resident Engineer by overseeing construction activities, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring projects are delivered on schedule and within budget.
Short Role Summary:
You will help manage large-scale building works, coordinate project teams, and ensure technical, safety, and regulatory compliance across all construction stages.
Key Responsibilities

Support the Resident Engineer in the daily supervision of construction activities

Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, consultants, and site teams

Track project progress, identify risks, and recommend corrective actions

Carry out routine site inspections to verify quality, safety, and compliance with approved plans

Review and approve technical submittals, shop drawings, and material samples

Prepare and maintain detailed project records, including daily logs, progress reports, and correspondence

Work with the design and site teams to resolve technical and construction-related issues

Assist with contract administration, including variations, payment certificates, and claims
-
Ensure all works comply with Kuwait’s building codes and regulatory requirements

Attend project meetings and maintain clear communication with all stakeholders

Provide guidance and mentoring to junior engineers and technical staff
Required Qualifications & Experience
-
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
-
Minimum 15 years of experience, including at least 3 years as a Deputy Resident Engineer on large-scale building or infrastructure projects

Valid membership with the Kuwait Society of Engineers (KSE)

Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD and MS Office
-
Solid understanding of construction methods, materials, and industry standards

Good knowledge of building regulations and codes in Kuwait

Proven project coordination and time management skills

Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving ability

Experience in technical reporting and professional communication

Ability to work efficiently within multicultural and multidisciplinary teams
