We are seeking a skilled Caster Operator to join our diverse and multicultural team in Kuwait. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating the Continuous Casting Machine (CCM), ensuring a safe working environment, and supporting process improvements under the guidance of a supervisor. This role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic steelmaking environment while contributing to operational efficiency and safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Preheat tundishes, operate the preheater, inspect refractory, clean nozzles, and check CNC cylinders.

• Prepare dummy bars, center them, and install quick sealing devices.

• Pack molds, set controls for casting readiness, inspect molds, and perform oil flow tests.

• Prepare tundishes for casting, including nozzle cleaning, centering, bottom plugging, and filling.

• Handle ladle receiving tasks such as slide gate cylinder operations, ladle cover handling, shroud cleaning, and teeming during casting.

• Tender molds through slag removal, mold level checking, wetting nozzle maintenance, nozzle replacement, metal splash cleaning, and monitoring abnormal oscillations.

• Perform manual billet cutting during torch failures, emergency billet evacuation, and early disconnection procedures.

• Lance ladle and tundish nozzles when molten steel flow is restricted, reporting to ladle operators as needed.

• Measure temperatures, take metal samples, and submit to QC labs.

• Apply tundish covering powder, clean spouts, and remove slag at regular intervals.

• Change molds, handle radioactive sources safely, retract and clean oscillating tables, and transfer molds to maintenance.

• Inspect air bellows, mold oil and water leaks, mold oscillation jerks, mold cover contact, and trolley locking interlocks.

• Maintain housekeeping duties to ensure a clean and organized work area.

Qualifications

• Diploma or higher in a relevant field.

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in CCM/Caster Operations within a steelmaking plant.

• Strong communication skills and proficiency in English.
