Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Caster Operator to join our diverse, multicultural team in Kuwait. In this role, you will oversee the operation of the Continuous Casting Machine (CCM), ensuring smooth daily operations, a safe working environment, and adherence to quality standards. You will also support process improvement initiatives under the guidance of your supervisor.

Key Responsibilities:

• Preheat the tundish, operate the preheater, inspect refractories, clean nozzles, and check CNC cylinders.

• Prepare dummy bars, ensure correct centering, and install quick sealing devices.

• Conduct mold packing, set controls to ready cast position, inspect molds, and perform oil flow tests.

• Prepare tundish for casting, including nozzle cleaning, centering, plugging, and filling.

• Manage ladle receiving tasks such as fixing/removing slide gate cylinders, handling ladle covers, cleaning and reattaching ladle shrouds, and overseeing teeming operations.

• Perform mold tendering: slag fishing, mold level checks, nozzle cleaning/changing, metal splash removal, and monitor oscillation anomalies.

• Handle manual billet cutting during torch failures and emergency billet evacuations.

• Conduct ladle and tundish nozzle lancing as required and coordinate with ladle operators.

• Measure temperatures, take metal samples, and forward them to the QC lab.

• Apply tundish covering powders, clean spouts, and perform regular deslagging.

• Participate in mold changing activities, including handling radioactive sources, cleaning oscillating tables, transferring molds for maintenance, and preparing spares.

• Inspect equipment for leaks, interlocks, and abnormal conditions during operations.

• Maintain a clean and organized work area through regular housekeeping tasks.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Diploma or higher in a relevant field.

• Minimum 3 years of experience in CCM/Caster Operations in a steelmaking plant.

• Strong communication skills and proficient in English.

• Attention to detail, safety awareness, and ability to work in a team environment.
