About the Opportunity

Role Summary

We are seeking an Assistant Operations Manager to support the growth and daily performance of tMart, our proprietary grocery cloud store concept. tMart delivers groceries within 20 minutes at hypermarket prices and has scaled rapidly across Kuwait, UAE, Qatar, Jordan, Bahrain, Egypt, Oman, and Iraq. This role plays a key part in ensuring smooth end-to-end store operations while driving efficiency, quality, and team performance.

Role Snapshot:
A hands-on operational leadership role focused on store execution, inventory accuracy, team productivity, and continuous improvement across multiple locations.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Operations Manager across end-to-end operations, including inventory control, pick-and-pack processes, asset and property management, maintenance coordination, operational standards, expense control, and special projects.

  • Lead and guide store operations teams, from Store Managers to Pickers, ensuring consistent performance and engagement.

  • Host daily online calls to review KPIs, align on priorities, and communicate updates.

  • Conduct weekly store visits and shop-floor audits to ensure legal compliance and adherence to company SOPs.

  • Monitor supervisors to ensure accurate execution of inventory processes, including stock-in and stock-out procedures.

  • Oversee shrinkage, expiry management, and quality standards, with a strong focus on fresh food condition and expiry risk.

  • Track order fulfillment metrics, operational KPIs, and workforce availability to meet demand at all times.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as Maintenance, PRO, IT, Logistics, SSC, Marketing, Commercial, and Demand Planning as required.

  • Identify, resolve, or escalate property and facility-related issues with relevant stakeholders.

  • Maintain strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and store-related operational tools.

  • Support expense management initiatives by identifying cost-saving opportunities without impacting operational efficiency.

  • Monitor productivity, work standards, and store development through weekly and monthly performance reviews.

  • Escalate major operational or performance issues with clear root-cause analysis, action plans, and proposed solutions.

  • Contribute to improving financial and operational performance across the store network.

  • Execute action plans defined by the Department Manager to address underperformance or operational gaps.

  • Lead and support new store initiatives, ensuring proper rollout, execution, and follow-up.

  • Assist with staff training and development programs, including system updates, new joiner training, engagement initiatives, pilots, and special projects.

  • Review merchandising, space planning, and in-store execution, recommending improvements where applicable.

  • Monitor product range availability per store assortment and coordinate with the Commercial team.

  • Support distribution and logistics activities, including store transfers, consumables distribution, and invoice collection.
