Job Description: Aircraft Technician
Role Overview As an Aircraft Technician, you will perform assigned maintenance tasks on aircraft, engines, and components. Reporting to the Supervising Authorization Holder or Aircraft Maintenance Executive, you will ensure all work adheres to safety, quality, and Airworthiness authority standards. You will contribute to operational efficiency and customer satisfaction as a productive, responsible team member.
Key Accountabilities

Maintenance & Repair: Execute scheduled maintenance, defect rectifications, and parts replacements under engineer supervision. Use approved data and specialized tooling to ensure aircraft return to service on schedule.

Communication & Mentorship: Maintain proactive communication with supervisors regarding task progress or anomalies. Provide practical guidance to junior staff to support their professional development.

Ground Operations: Perform aircraft marshaling, docking, towing, and arrival/departure procedures in strict accordance with safety protocols.

Tooling & Equipment: Manage personal toolbox inventory per regulatory requirements. Ensure common tools and equipment are handled with care and returned to stores in serviceable condition.

Inventory Control: Properly store removed components and return spares/consumables according to established procedures to ensure audit compliance.

Workplace Standards: Maintain high housekeeping standards within the aircraft and work areas to enhance safety and foster a professional environment.

Compliance: Adhere to the Company Safety Manual, Maintenance Organization Expositions (CAASL/EASA), and Engineering Procedures at all times.

Training Management: Proactively manage recurrent training (MOP, Human Factors, FTS, EWIS, etc.) by submitting training requests at least three months in advance.
Requirements

Education: 6 passes in G.C.E. O/L (Local or London) with 4 Credits in one sitting. Credits must include Mathematics, Science, and English (English credit may be obtained in any sitting).

Experience: A minimum of 2 years as an Aircraft Technician on pressurized turbine commercial aircraft. This must include at least 6 months of active maintenance experience within the last 24 months.

Technical Qualifications: Successful completion of one of the following:

a) A CAASL/EASA Part 147 approved full-time basic course (Category B1.1 or B2).

b) An ICAO member state-approved full-time basic course (Category B1.1 or B2), subject to syllabus review by SriLankan Engineering Quality.

c) A full-time basic and advanced course from an Aeronautical Military school, subject to syllabus review.
