Junior Executive – Merchandising

Dipped Products PLC is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Executive – Merchandising to join its manufacturing facility in Biyagama. This role is ideal for a dynamic individual with a passion for sales, customer engagement, and market analysis. The Role & Responsibilities

As a Junior Executive – Merchandising, you will be at the intersection of sales, marketing, and customer service. This position requires both analytical thinking and creativity to ensure the company’s products remain competitive in a dynamic marketplace.

Your key responsibilities include:

Implementing Sales Strategies

  • Coordinate inquiries, arrange product samples, and provide accurate price information to customers.
  • Support the development of effective sales campaigns that align with overall business objectives.
  • Ensure every customer interaction reflects professionalism and reliability.

Building Customer Relationships

  • Maintain strong and lasting relationships with customers by addressing inquiries promptly and resolving issues with efficiency.
  • Act as the primary point of contact to deliver a seamless customer experience that encourages repeat business.

Conducting Market Research

  • Monitor competitor activities, product launches, and market shifts to identify opportunities for growth.
  • Use insights from market data to recommend changes in strategies, pricing, or promotional efforts.

Promoting Brand Recognition

  • Assist in planning and executing promotional activities such as international trade shows, exhibitions, and digital marketing campaigns.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to highlight DPL’s strengths as an innovator in sustainable glove manufacturing.

Sales Reporting and Analysis

  • Prepare detailed sales reports that provide management with a clear understanding of performance metrics.
  • Track budgets and progress against sales targets, offering recommendations for improvement where necessary.

Ensuring Customer Satisfaction

  • Work proactively with cross-functional teams to ensure orders are fulfilled accurately and on time.
  • Strive to exceed customer expectations and contribute to the achievement of the company’s sales budget.

Qualifications

To thrive in this role, you should bring a blend of education, technical skills, and professional experience.

  • Educational Background: A bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related discipline from a recognized university is essential. This academic foundation provides the theoretical knowledge required to understand business processes and customer dynamics.
  • Professional Experience: A minimum of two years of work experience in merchandising, retail, or a related field is preferred. This ensures familiarity with market operations, supply chain requirements, and customer-facing responsibilities.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong ability to interpret sales data, spot trends, and generate actionable insights. These skills are vital for adapting strategies in a competitive marketplace.
  • Creativity and Innovation: A keen eye for new ideas, promotional techniques, and branding approaches that can set the company apart.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication abilities to collaborate effectively with clients, suppliers, and internal teams.
  • Attention to Detail: Accuracy in preparing reports, handling customer orders, and monitoring project progress.
  • Time Management: Ability to juggle multiple projects and meet deadlines, even under high-pressure situations.
