Junior Executive

The Role & Responsibilities

The Junior Executive will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting while maintaining compliance with established standards and practices. This role demands both technical expertise and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Key responsibilities include:

Preparing Monthly Management Accounts

You will prepare monthly management accounts with comprehensive balance sheet schedules, ensuring all financial data is accurate and complete. This involves analyzing figures, identifying variances, and preparing reports that support informed decision-making by senior management.

Liaising with External Auditors

As the point of contact for external auditors, you will coordinate the provision of necessary documentation and explanations, facilitating a smooth and efficient audit process. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential in this responsibility to maintain compliance and build professional relationships.

Supervising and Approving Bank Reconciliations

You will oversee the preparation of bank reconciliations, ensuring that all transactions are correctly recorded and discrepancies are resolved promptly. By maintaining accurate financial records, you will help safeguard the organization’s financial integrity.

Coordinating with Business and AP Teams

Collaboration with the Accounts Payable (AP) team and business units will be an integral part of your role. You will coordinate the financial reporting process, ensuring accuracy and alignment across departments, while supporting timely closings and reconciliations.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a strong academic and professional background in finance, with the following qualifications:

  • Professional Experience: A minimum of one year’s experience in financial statement preparation or general ledger functions is required. This experience should demonstrate your ability to manage financial reporting and reconciliation responsibilities effectively.
  • Professional/Academic Qualification: Candidates should be currently pursuing or holding a qualification in ICASL, CIMA, or ACCA. These credentials reflect a strong commitment to the accounting profession and ensure the technical expertise needed for the role.
  • Technical Proficiency: Experience using Microsoft Office packages, particularly Excel, is essential. Strong skills in spreadsheets, formulas, and reporting tools will enable you to deliver accurate financial insights.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills are critical. Time management and the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities will ensure that reporting deadlines are met without compromising accuracy.
