This strategic role involves analyzing workflows, implementing efficiency and cost-saving initiatives, leading the IE team, and fostering collaboration across departments. The Role & Responsibilities
As an Industrial Engineering Lead, you will be at the forefront of driving efficiency across the factory and ensuring optimal utilization of resources. This role requires a balance of technical expertise, leadership, and strategic vision.
Efficiency Improvement & Yamazumi Analysis
- Lead Yamazumi analysis initiatives across the factory to pinpoint bottlenecks and inefficiencies.
- Guide cross-functional teams in implementing targeted improvements to maximize output and productivity.
- Provide direction in SMV development, validation, and application to ensure reliable metrics for performance measurement.
Incentive System Development and Management
- Design, implement, and continuously optimize the incentive system that motivates teams while aligning with company goals.
- Monitor compliance, resolve discrepancies, and collaborate with HR to ensure timely and accurate incentive distribution.
- Use data-driven insights to refine the system, making it both fair and performance-oriented.
Time, Method & Production Study Leadership
- Supervise time and motion studies, ensuring that findings translate into actionable production strategies.
- Maintain rigorous documentation standards, including video studies and SMV sheets, to support transparency and improvement initiatives.
- Regularly audit SMV accuracy to safeguard data integrity and align production practices with efficiency goals.
Strategic Coordination with R&I and Technical Teams
- Act as a key liaison with Research & Innovation (R&I) and Technical departments, ensuring alignment on material specifications and process feasibility.
- Evaluate specification deviations and provide practical, engineering-based solutions to maintain efficiency and quality standards.
Leadership in Method Engineering & Process Improvements
- Drive initiatives in lean manufacturing, Kaizen, and quick changeover techniques to reduce waste and improve adaptability.
- Implement critical path balancing to optimize production flow and resource allocation.
Process Innovation & Capacity Optimization
- Propose innovative process changes backed by ROI-based justifications to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
- Track productivity improvements, cost savings, and waste reduction to demonstrate tangible outcomes of process changes.
Standards Deployment & Change Management
- Ensure the smooth rollout of new methods and standards by coordinating with team leaders and production heads.
- Facilitate training sessions and provide change management support to encourage team adoption of new practices.
Cross-functional Collaboration & Team Development
- Work closely with Value Stream Mapping (VSM), Quality Assurance (QA), and planning teams to balance production efficiency with quality standards.
- Mentor and develop team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.
Qualifications
Educational Background
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Professional certifications in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma (Green Belt or higher), or Work Study will be highly advantageous.
Professional Experience
- Minimum of 4–5 years of relevant industrial experience in the textile or garment manufacturing sector.
- Strong working knowledge of ERP systems, Microsoft Excel, and data visualization tools to analyze and present performance metrics.
Technical Proficiency
- Advanced expertise in core IE tools such as Time and Motion Study, SMV calculation, Yamazumi analysis, and line balancing.
- Ability to use engineering insights to solve process-related challenges and drive measurable outcomes.
