Showroom Manager – Gampaha
Overview
We are seeking a dependable, self-directed Showroom Manager to oversee daily operations at our Gampaha showroom. The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall management of the showroom’s performance, including sales, customer experience, staff supervision, inventory control, and adherence to company policies. This position requires a hands-on leader who is committed to maintaining a high standard of service, ensuring smooth workflow, and driving continuous improvements.
This is not a desk-only role — it requires strong leadership on the floor, close interaction with customers and staff, and practical involvement in day-to-day activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Showroom Operations
- Manage daily showroom activities to ensure smooth and efficient functioning.
- Monitor customer flow, staff engagement, product presentation, cleanliness, and overall showroom appearance.
- Implement and maintain showroom display standards as guided by the brand’s visual identity.
- Maintain a safe and organized environment for customers and staff.
- Sales and Customer Service
- Drive sales by setting clear sales targets, monitoring performance, and motivating the team to achieve and exceed them.
- Oversee and support the sales process from greeting customers to closing the sale.
- Handle escalated customer concerns with professionalism, aiming for quick and satisfactory resolutions.
- Regularly review customer feedback and use insights to enhance the customer experience.
- Team Leadership and Development
- Supervise, train, and mentor showroom staff including sales assistants and support personnel.
- Develop weekly rosters and allocate duties to ensure optimal coverage and productivity.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.
- Promote a respectful and accountable work culture, ensuring staff adhere to company policies and behavioral expectations.
- Inventory and Stock Management
- Monitor stock levels to ensure optimal product availability at all times.
- Coordinate with the warehouse and procurement teams to ensure timely replenishment.
- Oversee product labeling, pricing, and merchandising.
- Identify and report slow-moving items and suggest promotional strategies where applicable.
- Reporting and Administration
- Maintain accurate sales records, staff attendance logs, and stock movement reports.
- Submit daily, weekly, and monthly reports to head office, detailing sales performance, staff matters, and operational concerns.
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to sales, customer satisfaction, and team productivity.
- Ensure compliance with internal reporting procedures and deadlines.
- Marketing and Promotions
- Work closely with the marketing team to implement in-store promotional campaigns and seasonal displays.
- Support community-based events or brand activations in the Gampaha region to increase foot traffic.
- Suggest localized marketing ideas based on customer behavior and regional preferences.
- Financial Oversight
- Handle cash transactions, daily reconciliation, and banking as per company protocols.
- Minimize loss through strict control of refunds, exchanges, and discount authorizations.
- Monitor daily expenses and operate within the budget allocated for the showroom.
Candidate Profile
Education and Experience
- A diploma or degree in Business Management, Marketing, Retail Management, or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in a retail supervisory or managerial role.
- Previous experience in managing a showroom, retail store, or customer-facing branch is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with retail POS systems and inventory management tools.
Core Competencies
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to guide and inspire a team.
- Excellent communication in Sinhala and English; Tamil proficiency is an added advantage.
- Capable of working independently while following company guidelines.
- Good understanding of sales strategies, customer engagement, and service standards.
- Ability to remain calm and make decisions under pressure.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.

- Willingness to work extended hours, weekends, or public holidays when necessary.
- Residency in or near Gampaha is preferred for ease of commute.

Working Conditions
- Full-time position based at our Gampaha showroom.
- Standard workweek: 6 days with one weekday off; showrooms are typically open on weekends.
